The Plot: Bilbo Baggins is
swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which is currently
under the control of the dragon Smaug.
The Final Word: It’s fairly
safe to say Oscar winning director Peter Jackson was the only man who could
have possibly brought “The Hobbit” to the big screen. The talented filmmaker
behind “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy originally was content to sit this
experience out and serve only as a consultant to one-time director Guillermo
del Toro, however when del Toro dropped out of the project, it soon it became
clear audiences wanted Jackson back in the fold.
